Scarecrows in the Dead City of Xanadu

Ironically, this city that has been dead for five hundred years is rumored to hold the secrets to eternal life.
But, it's not self service mind you. Two of the city's massive defense drones are still operational.
Referred to by the local primitive population as "The Scarecrows", these massive and deadly machines
will kill anyone they can detect trying to enter the ruined city.
With their operators long dead, the Scarecrows have gone into a permanent defense mode.

Some believe there is a hidden underground passage into the city, but even if you can elude the Scarecrows, it is said
that an even greater horror awaits you in the city's massive central tower.

I got my inspiration from the myth and the amazing song of the same name by the band Rush.
